Take Transparency Over Smoke and Mirrors

Lately, my feed has been flooded with some seriously questionable takes from founders and recruiters.

Just when you think you've seen it all, someone comes along with a fresh dose of absurdity.

First up, we've got the founder whose hiring post went viral, basically saying, 'Hey, if you value work-life balance, this ain't the place for you.'

Then there's the ex-Google recruiter dropping truth bombs about how having an 'open to work' banner on LinkedIn is basically waving a red flag.

Another from Rahul who highlighted a lady on social media who preaches that founders shouldn't hire people with entrepreneurial mindset.

And then the recent one from Nagarjun shedding light on a founder who wants to hire a bunch of young'uns under 25.

Honestly,

I'm low-key grateful for these folks putting their cards on the table right off the bat.

I mean, isn't it refreshing when people just lay it all out there? Saves us all a ton of time and energy.

I'd rather they keep it real so I get to make an informed decision.

At least, you know what you're gonna have to put up with if you do get hired.

Unlike the companies that sell you the world, only to hit you with a reality check once you're in the door.

Now, before you get all defensive,

I'm not normalising this circus act, but I do have a different perspective to this negativity.

It's better these companies are upfront about what they stand for.

I'll take transparency over smoke and mirrors any day.

Trust me, better the devil you know than the wolf in sheep's clothing 😊
