The Most Irritating Thing About Salespeople
This is the most irritating thing about salespeople. Not knowing when to stop!
Yesterday, my friend and I were out for dinner and he received a phone call. From the way he spoke I could make out he was talking to salesperson.I heard him say "Hey, I understand Faizal but 3 Lakh is quite an investment so I need some time to think about it also I got to discuss this with my advisor"
I was hoping the call to end after that but it went on for another 10 mins (literally)
I could see my friend getting annoyed. I signalled him to hang up but he being him kept repeating the same lines for 3 more times.
I asked him to put the phone on speaker and heard the salesperson's pitch.
"I understand where you're coming from AJ, but you just have to invest 20k now and get access to the dashboard. Only when you sign up you'll have more info to discuss with your advisor about this well nah. I just feel like it won't make sense otherwise. You need to showcase what you'll be signing up for....."
Every time after my friend spoke, Faizal would respond with a "Yes, but..."
This justification went on for 5 more minutes.
I literally wanted to snatch the phone and yell "Shut up and hang up. Don't call me back till I get in touch"
I was furious looking at my friend's face who looked pathetic.
I asked him why he won't shut him up and he said "Because you were around Akshaya!" WOW 😒
I feared his next question tbh
"Akshaya, do you also sell like that?" I'm sure he thought of it although he was nice enough to not ask me.
I then checked the date and it was 29th. Hmmm... now I know where that came from. My anger turned into pity.
This salesperson threw his self-respect, and his brand's image under the bus.
My friend told me later that he was genuinely interested in the product and was also looking to take a loan if needed, but after that call he doubted the company
The salesperson lost not just the deal but a customer's trust on the brand on the whole.
#salespeople selling is hard, but buying is harder.
Please consider your customer's priorities as well before pushing them so hard.
